
Slice the flank steak against the grain and place it in a bowl. Add baking soda, 2 tablespoons of low sodium soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, oyster sauce, black pepper, and 2 tablespoons of water. Mix well and let it marinate while you prepare the sauce.
In a separate bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of low sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 2 tablespoons of water. Whisk together until smooth.
Heat 2 tablespoons of canola oil in a hot pan. Sear the marinated beef for about one minute per side until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon of canola oil and sautรฉ 2 cloves of minced garlic and 2 teaspoons of minced ginger until fragrant.
Add the broccoli to the pan and stir-fry until it turns bright green and tender-crisp.
Return the beef to the pan, pour in the prepared sauce, and toss everything together until well coated and heated through.
Serve the beef and broccoli over white rice, garnished with sesame seeds.
